DS Driving School West Behind the Wheel Scheduling Policy

DS Driving School West has a Behind the Wheel (BTW) scheduling policy that every student or parent enrolling in their driving school needs to acknowledge and agree upon. The policy includes spreading out the three BTW lessons over a specific period, scheduling lessons during the designated time frame, completing a minimum number of driving hours before each lesson, and scheduling the final lesson at least four weeks before the road/license test.

Students must have driven a minimum of 15 hours before taking their first lesson, between 25 and 35 hours for their second lesson, and between 35 and 50 hours for their third and final lesson. The school recommends scheduling the third BTW lesson at least four weeks prior to the road/license test.

The school opens the BTW calendar on the 1st of each month at 8:00 am CST, and it is the responsibility of the student and parent to schedule a lesson during this time. Only one lesson can be scheduled at a time.

It is important for students and parents to be aware of the seasonal climate and weather conditions, as driving in different conditions is crucial for learning how to drive safely.

The school has a policy that if a student does not complete their three BTW lessons within 13 months of getting their issued blue slip, the person(s) will be charged a $150 expiration fee- which extends the contract for an additional 13 months. This contract does not begin until a students 15th birthday. The policy is in place to ensure that all students have equal opportunity to complete their lessons within their designated time frame, ensuring their eligibility for the Road Test Exam.

It is crucial for students and parents to adhere to the scheduling policy to avoid any licensing delays.  The policy is in place to ensure that all students have equal opportunity to complete their lessons within their designated time frame, ensuring their eligibility for the Road Test Exam.

The school is not responsible for any licensing delays that may occur due to the student/parent not scheduling their lessons according to DS policy.
